About Us

Our mission is to inspire people of all ages to achieve their career and self-employment potential and to reduce unemployment. As a CIC (Community Interest Company) our work is underpinned by our core values and ethos as a not-for-profit organisation. We strive to increase our ability to support the reduction of unemployment by the up and re-skilling of people in line with their aspirations plus increasing our work across a larger geographical area and reaching more people.

We provide advice, guidance and support to individuals, micro businesses and start ups as well as those with businesses looking to grow. We support individuals to develop new skills and take the next steps in their careers with training and personal development.

We have provided business advice and support to thousands of businesses and individuals across the region and have had the pleasure in watching individuals and businesses thrive with the guidance that our excellent specialist advisors provide.

Our CIC exists to make a positive, lasting impact helping individuals secure meaningful employment, enabling people to start businesses, supporting businesses in their growth, and ensuring that education and skills are accessible to all. When people thrive, communities flourish.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC) we are driven by a commitment to social impact rather than only profit.

Here are some key reasons why our CIC actively supports individuals and businesses to grow and succeed:

1. Reducing unemployment and strengthening local economies

By helping individuals gain skills, find jobs, or start businesses, our CIC contributes to lower unemployment rates and economic growth within communities. When people are working and businesses are thriving, local economies become more resilient.

2. Creating equal opportunities for all

Many individuals face barriers to employment or entrepreneurship due to lack of training, confidence, or resources. Our CIC bridges these gaps by offering some fully funded or affordable, accessible, and practical support, empowering people regardless of their background or circumstances.

3. Supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses

Start-ups and small businesses are the backbone of the economy, yet many struggle due to lack of funding, guidance, or business knowledge. Our CIC helps by providing mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to ensure long-term success.

4. Encouraging lifelong learning and skills development

With industries evolving rapidly, upskilling and reskilling are crucial. Our CIC provides training in emerging fields, digital skills, leadership, and vocational training ensuring individuals stay competitive in the job market.

5. Strengthening communities and promoting social inclusion

Our CIC’s focus is on helping disadvantaged or underrepresented groups, including the long term unemployed, young people, career changers, parents returning to work, and those with disabilities. By investing in these individuals, we promote stronger, more inclusive communities.

6. Enhancing well-being and confidence

Work and education aren’t just about earning money they contribute to self-worth, independence, and mental well-being. Our CIC offers a supportive environment where individuals gain confidence and motivation to pursue their goals.

7. Reinforcing a culture of giving back

Unlike traditional businesses, our CIC reinvests its profits into the community rather than distributing them to shareholders. This ensures that the support provided continues to benefit more people over time.
