Jake previously worked for Dorset Police spanning 14 years\, primarily investigating computer crime in the Digital Forensics Unit on a range of offences from fraud to murder. Within law enforcement powers\, he learnt how to retrieve digital evidence from all devices whilst engaging in a variety of ways to ethically break security in order to help protect innocent victims of cybercrimes. He then became a cyber security consultant for the police delivering tailored advice to the public and local businesses in order to help protect the community and build upon their security foundation.\n\n\n\nJake is also a familiar face in the media having spoken on numerous national and international TV channels including BBC News\, GB News\, France 24\, Euronews and Canadian TV.\n\n\n\nIn this closed forum\, Jake will deliver his talk 'HackedIn via LinkedIn' Watch Jake unfold a targeted phishing attack via LinkedIn on the CEO of a company and how easy it is to manipulate anyone into handing over credentials of their accounts and precious data. Jakes uses hacking tools which are widely available on the internet (if you know where to look) and good old fashioned engineering techniques to show how easy it is to take over someone's email account\, website or even life!\n\n\n\n This event is sponsored by Strode College and we will also hear from Dave Byford\, Director of Employer Engagement. Dave joined Strode in January 2017 from Lambeth College in London where he was Director of Business and Commercial Development. At Strode\, he is the Director for all of the college Employer Engagement including Apprenticeships\, Traineeships\, developing training solutions for employers work force development\, and securing funding growth opportunities for the college in aiding financial stability. Dave has a Degree in Hotel and Catering Management and a Certificate in Education. Outside of college\, Dave enjoys music\, sailing and golf.
