New Leaf will be running a two day workshop to deliver a Mental Health, First Aid, Two Day Course with participants from the Somerset business community and members of the Armed Forces Community, specifically Veterans, Reserves, Military Spouses & Service Leavers. The Mental Health First Aid Course is a two day, 16 hour programme and teaches participants how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. It provides people with the skills and confidence to recognise common signs and symptoms and effectively guide a person towards the right support.
Our Adult MHFA Two Day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider Course in Taunton Somerset.
Mental Health First Aiders have:
- An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
