About Us

A C Mole & Sons is one of the West Country’s leading independent firms of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers.

While our heart is in Somerset, we have clients across the UK and act for businesses of all sizes from start-ups to substantial corporate groups. We offer a wide range of services including business advice, audit, payroll and tax advice.

Founded in 1902 we still act for some of the firm’s original business clients and for families in third and fourth generation. We believe that says something about the strength of the relationships we build and of the emphasis we place on understanding our clients’ needs.

We filed the UK’s first electronic tax return in 1997 and have remained closely involved in the development of HMRC’s electronic filing systems. Our award winning tax team – we were named Best Tax Team in a Small Firm in the 2004 UK Taxation Awards and Best Single Office Tax Practice in the 2013 Awards - has a national reputation and our expertise ranges from start-up tax reliefs such as the Enterprise Investment Scheme through Research and Development relief to business structuring and restructuring.

Our business advice is based on experience gained over many years. Several partners have served as directors of client companies and have therefore seen life from the other side of the fence: their advice is practical, not academic.
