Digital Somerset started in 2019 as Digital Taunton. Very quickly it needed to expand to include the raft of businesses using and investing in digital and tech across the whole county. The networking events were a huge success and the impact DS made was positive and long-lasting. Sadly, COVID happened and the networking stalled? But now it?s back! With bi-monthly events and with a brand-new satellite roadshow around all of Somerset. By collaborating with local businesses and education providers, we are hoping to see the digital sector in Somerset thrive.
Eventually, we are hoping our wonderful and diverse county will be known as a hub for digital and tech innovation and knowledge and also for job opportunities and career progression. We will work hard to forge long-lasting relationships across Somerset and get conversations flowing between the private, public and education sectors about all things digital. We are so excited to be putting together a brilliant programme of events for the year ahead. With our larger events taking place in Taunton every couple of months (with great speakers and pizza) to a roadshow around the county with workshops and meet-ups for all businesses, charities, schools and colleges. We are all about collaboration. Working with businesses, CICs, charities, public and private sectors and education. We all use digital aspects in our everyday life to some extent, so bringing the community together to inspire and educate individuals across Somerset will benefit everyone in the long term.
