About Us

Leonardo Helicopters, formerly AgustaWestland, designs, develops, manufactures and supports helicopters for military and commercial markets around the world.

It has the widest and most modern range of rotorcraft to meet all vertical lift requirements with over 4800 helicopters in service in 105 Countries. Leonardo Helicopters has its main operations in Italy, the UK, Poland and the USA, but has a global presence through its network of industrial partners and an ever expanding network of regional headquarters, customer support centres and authorised service centres.

Leonardo Helicopters’ UK operations are based in Yeovil, where it employee over 3000 employees and supports thousands of more jobs indirectly and through its supply chain, including many in Somerset. AW101, AW159 and AW189 helicopters are built at Yeovil for UK and export customers while integrated operational support services are provided for the UK Ministry of Defence’s fleets of AW101 Merlin, AW159 Wildcat, Apache and Sea King helicopters.
