Skills and Training
BOP were at the forefront of the unique collaboration between Arts & Business that enabled corporate companies worldwide to receive behavioural skills training from creative industries with transferrable skill sets. The BOP team have all had performance experience to the very highest level and couple that with the latest developments in neuroscience to create innovative and highly impactful group and One-On-One courses, training and pitch direction for their clients. The team have worked with companies on every continent, enabling their clients to be their very best selves in any communication challenge; be it a presentation to a client/audience, hosting a work meeting, or interacting with colleagues.
The BOP team were there at the vanguard of arts and business training, which started with group and company training sessions for WPP and has grown to encompass clients such as BCG, KPMG (where they have successfully coached multi-million pound audit contracts), Schlumberger, JP Morgan, Abbot Pharmaceutical, LEK, Inigo, (amongst others) and Person to Person sessions from school children to C-Suite clients. BOP were the recipients of the Arts and Business People Development award and are extremely proud of their ongoing client relationships.
Most successful businesses are built by its people, by its colleagues, and clients. It is about relationships, great communication, selling an idea, a brand and an ideal. BOP make sure that team members are at their peak in establishing their unique presence and communications skills, making the most of every meeting, every conversation, and every day.
Sessions look at how to maximise the natural ‘you’ when presenting or communicating with colleagues, clients or friends and looks penetratingly at the key skill sets required to be an effective communicator, team member, and leader. The sessions focus robustly on an individual’s own personal challenges and strengths and how they can be identified and unpicked for the benefit of the individual and ultimately the whole team.
Alongside creating developmental and challenging courses the SparkLab team have been much sought after for Person-To-Person coaching, Pitch Direction, and have an in-house counsellor for when the challenges are on a deeper, more personal, level.
Leading BOP is PETER STEPHENS who is a LAMDA trained actor who appeared in award winning productions at both the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he played Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (amongst other roles), appeared in the West End and in several International tours.
He moved into communication skills training, originally with the WPP group, and under the banner of BOP (Behavioural and Observational Practise) training he shares his practical experience and understanding of the pressures of ‘getting on your feet’ with clients worldwide.
As an award-winning corporate coach with over 25 years’ experience, in both one-to-one coaching and group training, he is much sought after as a Pitch Director and group coach.
His work has taken him all over the world and to every continent where he has helped clients lift the data/content off the page and bring it to an authentic dynamism. Working on the premise that you can be boring at any level and in any language (and you know pretty much straight away) Peter helps clients present their most impactful selves at ‘the flick of a switch’ (the theatrical Showtime moment) and to understand how to harness the pressures of nerves and what gets in the way of ‘us’ being brilliant every time we stand to speak or switch on our camera. Peter’s sessions ensures that everyone knows what does and doesn’t work and has the skill sets to adjust their style according to each and every communication challenge.
Peter is also a highly regarded youth sports coach, winning coaching awards for both youth football and cricket coaching, and uses much of his corporate training philosophies when coaching young sports participants.
