SFM Technology was established in the mid 80’s and has grown steadily over the years.
Recognised as one of the UK’s leading engineering solutions providers the company has grown and developed a wide skill base and offers any combination of engineering pre-design, prototyping, design and development, product enhancement, machining through to manufacture and assembly.
Based in South Somerset the company draws on an impressive bank of design, engineering and support staff at its 4000m2 design and manufacturing facility in the village of Martock, a location ideally situated within minutes of the main route through the West Country, the A303.
With staff gathered from a variety of industries, sectors and environments, SFM Technology has the inbuilt flexibility to rise to virtually any challenge.

The company has an enviable reputation for expertise in the development and provision of engineering solutions and works regularly with demanding industry sectors such as :- aerospace, automotive, Ministry of Defence, transportation and specialised engineering for agriculture.

Historically SFM Technology has concentrated on the design and manufacture of GSE (ground support equipment) and other highly specialised aerospace engineering technology and this sector has grown to become a significant area of the design engineering activity.

Complete flexibility ensures that the company maintains a competitive edge in handling complex projects with innovation being to the fore, working with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment, fabricating with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic, timber and any other customer-specified material, also combining electrical installations.

DESIGN: The in-house design department enables customers to take advantage of all levels of design input. From undertaking an individual project element to the creation of an original design the design team offers a complete outsourced service, extending from conceptual scheming designs right up to fully detailed assembly drawings. Flexibility is the key; so if the need is for a new commission, the management of a design project or even the supply of a design engineer in-house to a customers’ premises for longer term project work, the input can be tailored to suit.

MANUFACTURE: SFM Technology offers a fully integrated manufacturing service that includes:- machining, fabrication, welding and assembly incorporating working from either our own or from customer-provided drawings, and is well equipped to undertake; conventional or CNC milling, laser and waterjet cutting, turning and boring. Plus CMM inspection is available for batch runs or small quantities for test or trial purposes.
