Health and Wellbeing
Counselling helps you explore the way you think and act; to see how you may be repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour or thinking. It can also help you explore the way you deal with relationships and conflict.
You can bring thoughts and feelings, which you may not feel able to share with friends or family. You are free to talk safely, without fear of rejection, criticism or blame. Your counsellor will not tell you what to do but will help you to make your own choices and to make changes in your life that offer greater freedom in thought and action.
SCC counsellors come from a range of different trainings and incorporate a variety of counselling models including psychodynamic, person-centred, integrative and humanistic.
To give counselling the best chance of working the sessions need to be weekly. The counselling session lasts 50 minutes. Counselling can be time limited 6 ? 12 sessions, or over a longer period of time depending on requirement, this will be discussed more fully at your initial consultation.
