About Us

Set in the heart of historical Taunton, with onsite parking, fantastic facilities and a view overlooking the world famous pitch - the Cooper Associates County Ground, offers a venue with a difference.

Ever since Somerset County Cricket Club was formed in 1875, the local community is something that has been at The Club’s heart. From taking cricket to different venues throughout the area in the 19th century right up to providing high quality sport and business facilities today.

On the field, Somerset County Cricket Club has had tremendous success thanks to some of the biggest names to grace the sport. Botham, Richards, Garner, Caddick, Trescothick and Langer are just a few of the greats who have entertained the County Ground faithful but it is not just on the field that we are striving for success.

Our exclusive suites provide the perfect venue for matchday hospitality whilst our dedicated conference and events team take great pride in ensuring that they deliver your perfect event on a non match day.

We can accommodate between 40 to 280 guests for sit down meals at the venue. The Colin Atkinson Pavilion offers bright and spacious rooms on two floors, the Long Room and County Room, while our prestigious 1875 Club Room in the Somerset Pavilion, which opened in 2015, provides a more intimate and exclusive space. Alternatively, you can enjoy near 360 degree breath taking views across the Taunton skyline and the beautiful Quantock Hills from the Thatchers Terrace on the top of the Somerset Pavilion.

From sourcing fresh local ingredients for a banquet to arranging flowers for a wedding reception or entertaining your clients on a matchday, we pride ourselves on our high quality of our service and our attention to detail.

Somerset County Cricket Club is located less than 15 minutes walk from Taunton Station and is easily accessible from the M5. On site car parking facilities are also available.
