About Us

Arc are a local homeless charitable organisation, supporting over 450 people per year. Our mission is to end rough sleeping in the South West, through housing, assisting, supporting and empowering homeless people in Somerset.

Formerly known as Taunton Association for the Homeless, we have been in existence for more than 40 years, now with 15 properties housing 174 people. As well as providing accommodation, Arc aims to ensure no-one has to spend more than one night homeless, with our Outreach Team working hard to support rough sleepers, getting them into accommodation as quickly as possible.

Arc understand that it is not just about having a roof over your head, and so we help our clients on a road to recovery, inspiring and assisting them to move forwards through a positive journey to independence.

This includes the opportunity for clients to join our in-house ‘Arc Academy’, offering free activities and courses, alongside 1 to 1 support from our Pathway Workers. Once a client is ready, they have opportunity to access private accommodation through our very own letting agency, Somerset West Lettings, providing private but affordable and easily accessible accommodation.
