Where it Began
Willmotts Transport Ltd began trading as a haulage company in the heart of Somerset in 1918, founded by George Willmott at the end of the First World War. Over the decades it went on to become one of the biggest independently owned transport companies in the South West, running 80 trucks and over 100 trailers from its present site at Waterlip, near Shepton Mallet.
In 2010 two business partners, Andrew Stott and David Buxton, bought the Willmotts business and incorporated it with David’s firm DJB Haulage Ltd thus establishing ADMP Group. Willmotts Transport ltd remains based in Waterlip, working in ambient storage and haulage for the UK and Europe, whilst DJB Haulage run’s over 40 trucks based in Southampton delivering over 20,000 shipping containers per year throughout the UK from Southampton and Felixstowe docks.
During the past 5 Over the years Willmotts Transport has grown from a warehousing business with a small fleet of trucks to one of the South West’s leading logistic companies providing retail support for the major supermarkets in the UK and Europe. We run to at least 5 European countries on a weekly basis and operate 50 trucks. We have 60,000 sq. feet of ambient warehousing which holds in excess of 10,000 thousand pallets at any one time, and have gained both ISO9001 and BRC accreditation.
