Event Description:

The Somerset Chamber of Commerce in association with the Bank of England invite you to join us for an annual update at Taunton Racecourse.

Bookings are now closed, if you wish to still book a place please get in touch with either Loren Gray or Brooke Gilbertson on to be added to the waiting list.

This key event in the chamber calendar presented by Donna Kehoe, Agent for the South West will once again offer a fascinating insight into the state of the UK economy as well as highlighting the drivers and possible impacts for the future.

Whilst the picture is unlikely to be clear, we can all expect an ‘interesting’ discussion on the possible ramifications of Brexit and other factors effecting the UK economy.

Past topics of discussion have included:
  • household consumption,
  • consumer spending,
  • employment rates,
  • the effects of the depreciation in sterling,
  • inflation rates
  • consumer and business confidence
Guests will also have the opportunity to network over a full english breakfast. Previous events of this nature have seen over 60 business people from across the county attend so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Kindly sponsored by Handelsbanken

Handelsbanken has a different perspective from many other banks. We are driven only by our customers, delivering personally tailored service and solutions to suit their demands. Because we are not target driven, we can take a long-term view, investing time to get to know our customers, their needs and ambitions. Handelsbanken?s decentralised model has been core to its success, with each branch operating as a local business. Our customers benefit from dealing with people they know ? experienced bankers who understand the local market, and from swift, clear decisions made within the branch.
This approach has helped Handelsbanken to come top in an independent satisfaction survey for UK personal and business banking customers for ten years running (EPSI Rating, October 2018).
Handelsbanken was founded in Sweden in 1871 and has almost 800 branches worldwide, with over 200 of those in Great Britain, supporting local communities with their personal and business banking needs. Handelsbanken Taunton opened in 2010, and we have recently invested in expanding the branch in order to meet continued growing demand from customers across Somerset.
