This morning event incorporates the element of networking, that we know you all enjoy, but also includes the opportunity to hear from a £60m turnover South West-based business, Riverford Organic Farmers. Every week, Riverford delivers organic food to around 60,000 homes across the UK. They have around 850 'co-owners' working in a diverse range of roles, from those in the farms growing and picking veg, to those packing the boxes and the multidrop delivery team. Their core values are 'stronger together, do things well and independence' and is run through everything that they do.
We will be joined by Nay Brotherton, People Business Partner at Riverford who will be discussing the company's successes and giving an insight into how they have dealt with current business issues. Having previously worked in a large retail business, Nay moved to Riverford about 18 months ago. Predominately supporting the operational and commercial areas of the business, Nay focuses on development and succession planning, engaging teams and enabling positive change.
Joining the business as it recently became employee-owned, meant Nay has spent a lot of time supporting managers to adapt their approach in a way that compliments co-ownership, and is aligned with the company's core values. She is passionate about enabling senior and line managers to create an environment where 'co-owners' (employees) are listened to, valued, and developed to reach their potential.
Hosted by Somerset Chamber via Zoom, this event offers the opportunity for members to catch-up and continue to build business connections as well as having the opportunity to ask any questions to this hugely successful business.
Bring your virtual business cards, elevator pitch, questions - and let's network!
