Administrator – School in a Bag
Location: Chilthorne Domer, Somerset
Hours: 24 hours per week (4 days)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £26,000–£28,000 pro rata

School in a Bag is seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to provide day-to-day administrative support to our charity and trading subsidiary. This is a vital role at the heart of our organisation, helping us maximise our performance, impact and engagement with supporters.
About the Role
In this varied role, you will:
- Maintain and develop administrative systems, processes and procedures.
- Provide secretarial support to trustees, directors and working groups.
- Act as first point of contact for enquiries from partners, supporters and donors.
- Support diary management, report preparation and general team administration.
- Enter and maintain accurate data on our CRM, including donations and donor records.
- Support management of SchoolBag orders and liaise with the finance team.
- Assist with events, conferences and promotional activity.
- Act as a fire marshal and first aider (training provided).
You will also help the organisation meet financial targets, support positive donor engagement and ensure compliance with charity, health & safety and regulatory obligations.
Core Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a busy office environment and/or customer-focused setting.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Good IT skills (Office 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High levels of accuracy, literacy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of email systems.
Desirable
- Experience working in the charitable sector.
- Knowledge of CRM systems.
- Understanding of social media platforms.
Personal Qualities
- Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to confidentiality, equal opportunities and the mission of School in a Bag.
- Willingness to undertake training and occasional evening/weekend work.
- Ability to travel when required.
