Salary:                   
Point 8 to point 14 on the Accompanist Scale (£24,376 - £31,534) from September 2023 pay dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • To accompany pupils for concerts, auditions, competitions, and yearly departmental assessments, if appropriate
  • To play at masterclasses for all instrumental departments
  • To accompany pupils playing in Senior and Prep School assemblies
  • To play in local and national television and radio broadcasts for the promotion of the School
  • To accompany Associated Board examination entrants
  • Arrange rehearsal times with pupils and prepare a piece, as a duo, up to concert standard
  • To play for internal instrumental assessments
  • To attend lessons with instrumental teachers when preparing an accompaniment for a performance
  • To accompany applicants at pre-audition and final audition levels
  • Individual practice and preparation of the accompaniment parts
  • To play in weekly Performance Classes (in preparation for Lunchtime Concerts, etc).  These involve informal discussion and critique about performances
  • To teach piano for four hours per week
  • To provide registers, reports, assessments and references as required
  • To meet on a regular basis with the Head of Accompaniment to plan work schedules
  • Any other duties that may arise
