About Us

School in a Bag is a UK registered charity born from the Piers Simon Appeal, a charity set up in memory of Piers Simon who died in the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. School in a Bag deliver rucksacks filled of stationery, learning resources and eating utensils to poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children around the world.

The contents of a typical SchoolBag include:

A rucksack with a reflective strip and name badge window, 12 pencils, 10 biro pens, 12 coloring pencils, a 30cm ruler, a math set, a pencil case, 6 exercise books (lined/plain/square), a water bottle and a lunchbox and spork.

The contents enable children to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves, eat, drink and above all learn.

The cost to sponsor a SchoolBag is £20.00

Each SchoolBag distributed is numbered and donors can track the SchoolBags they have funded via the 'Track My SchoolBag' section on the School in a Bag website: www.schoolinabag.org. In most cases, donors can learn details and see a picture of the beneficiary who received their SchoolBag.
