Our core aim is to pre-empt mental health issues arising and provide the early intervention to stop mental health conditions escalating. We believe that young people thrive if they are aware of the challenges they may face as they make the journey towards adulthood, and when needed, can talk to someone in confidence and without judgement about their feelings. We believe young people should be equipped to make an informed judgement regarding the influences in their lives, have the self esteem and assurance to want the best for themselves and develop a healthy self-awareness of their own state of mind. At ICM we give young people all the time needed to ?un-pack their feelings?, identify root causes, work through the issues and then move on with increased resilience and self confidence. We have a schools support package for pupils, parents and teachers.
We also provide a counselling service for adults and have a mental health support package for employers. We are developing a specialism in neurodiversity with a particular focus on neurodiversity in the counselling room and in the workplace.
