Stand Against Violence (SAV) is a national charity working to prevent violence in the UK. The charity started in Taunton following the tragic murder of Lloyd Fouracre in 2005 but has gradually advanced beyond Taunton and even the South West. Predominantly SAV focuses on primary prevention of violence such as through education. The charity delivers to thousands of young people each year from ages 4-25yrs. Through the work of the charity young people have improved their attitudes towards violence with research demonstrating that young people are less likely to resort to violence as a means of conflict resolution post workshop than before. This impressive change continued 6 weeks later suggesting long term benefits to future generations and UK society. SAV firmly believes that violence is preventable and strives to achieve this.
